Mayor John F. Ramundo Jr.
John F. Ramundo was elected Mayor in November 2007, succeeding Edward P. Zugibe. A recently retired United Water executive, Mr. Ramundo has a long history of service to his country and community. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and is the finance officer for Leo Laders American Legion Post 130. His service positions have included coaching in the Haverstraw Little League and St. Peter's CYO, and board positions with the United Way of Rockland and the Epilepsy Society of Southern NY. He previously served the Village as a Trustee and the Town of Haverstraw as a Councilman.
Trustee Joseph Denise
Joseph Denise has served as a Village Trustee since 1993 and is currently the Deputy Mayor. A Navy veteran, Mr. Denise retired from the Stony Point Police Department in 1992 and is a member of Teamsters Local 456, the Haverstraw Elks Lodge 877, and the Italian American Social Club of West Haverstraw.
Trustee Frances Nardi
In 1994 Frances Nardi retired as a senior medical records clerk at Letchworth Developmental Center in Thiells, New York. She has served as a Village Trustee since 1994. In 2001 Mrs. Nardi founded the West Haverstraw Seniors Club and is currently its First Vice President. She was a North Rockland School Board Trustee, President of the Italian American Social Club's Ladies Auxiliary, and co-founded the North Rockland Soccer Association. She contributes a monthly article about the Village to the community newsletter Haverstraw Happenings.
Trustee Robert R. D'Amelio
Robert R. D'Amelio is a successful local business owner and a 1996 graduate of the Leadership of Rockland program. Mr. D'Amelio is the Past President of the Haverstraw Little League, serving for 5 years, and has been the past chairman of the West Haverstraw Zoning Board of Appeals, the Rockland County Board of Consumer Protection, and the Citizens' Advisory Committee for Bowline Power Plant III. He is also a member of the Italian American Social Club of West Haverstraw. Mr. D'Amelio and his wife Annette are married 20 years and are very proud of their 4 children: Anthony (17), Nicholas (16), Olivia (13) and Randell (10).
Trustee Robert LaGrow
Robert LaGrow is the newest member of the Board; he was appointed to a vacant seat in 2003 and subsequently won election to the post. He retired from the North Rockland School District in 2002 as senior head custodian. Mr. LaGrow has previously served the Village as a Planning Board member and as Village Zoning Board chairman. He is a member of the Haverstraw Elks Club, Leo Laders American Legion Post 130, Garnerville Methodist Church, and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
