West Haverstraw Day Camp
Welcome back to the new and improved Village of West Haverstraw’s Summer Day Camp! We are very excited that camp is about to begin in just a few short months and as always, we are anxious to welcome back your child(ren) and provide a fun and safe atmosphere.
This year, the Village of West Haverstraw and the Rockland County YMCA are teaming up to provide an enjoyable, safe setting, for children of West Haverstraw residents only, to develop skills, self-confidence, new friendships and a sense of belonging - all while having tons of fun, under the supervision of trained YMCA Staff. Our season starts on Monday, June 28th and ends on Friday, August 20th. Our new camp hours are from 8 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily!
The 2021 day camp fee is $150.00 per week, per child, and as usual, a daily lunch option is available and included with registration. Unfortunately, transportation and daily trips will not be included this camp season due to COVID-19 restrictions. Our new, improved day camp will include:
- Fun-filled daily events involving themed weeks, arts & crafts and various sporting activities ~ all enjoyed here at our Community Center and Peck’s Pond Recreational Facilities
- Instead of a six (6) week program, we have extended camp for eight (8) weeks
- Our hours of operation have also been extended from 10am-3pm to 8am-6pm
- Supervision of trained YMCA staff
The West Haverstraw/YMCA Summer Camp program is an affordable childcare option for Village residents. Please note that swim lessons and pool-time at Bowline Point Park will continue and be integrated into the weekly schedules.
Once you have decided which week(s) to register your child(ren), please bring payment (cash or check) to Village Hall. Our office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. to receive registrations and payment. For your convenience, we will also hold open registrations on Thursday, June 10th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. (If attending open house, please bring a current hard copy of your child(ren)’s physical and immunization records). For new campers, payment and registration needs to be received and completed one week prior to their start date.
There will be no exceptions!
Once payment has been received, you will be given a flyer with a QR scan code to start the online registration process and then you will receive an invitation link to our ePACT portal where you will upload your child’s immunizations and sign all waivers prior to your camper’s first day. Orientation packets with more information on camp schedules and other important information will be sent out to you via email by June 1, 2021.
